Check out the moving company that will be handling your valuables.
Are they insured, licensed and bonded?
Do they have outstanding complaints with the Better Business Bureau?
Are they registered with the Texas Department of Transportation?
PREPARING FOR A MOVE
Any items where the use of tools are necessary should be disassembled, such as mirrors on dressers, washers/dryers, headboards/footboards, and desktop extensions. Advance notice is necessary if you would like us to perform this task.
Make sure all boxes are sealed and taped on the top and bottom.
Make sure all desk drawers are completely empty, including files and other miscellaneous items. Dresser drawers and chest of drawers can be full of clothes - just empty all breakables and small items, such as keys.
Label each box on two sides of the box of the contents and where you would like them to go.
